Remembering Sir Arthur C. Clarke, I have chosen two of his book titles (just the titles, not the stories behind) and mixed them for the beginning of a very short story. Which everyone can continue of his or her own.

@Shuva Brata Deb: The door belongs to an old chapel. The greenish is water in a fishpass. Some sort of lock/ sluice in the Rhine river, Germany, to help fish return to their spawn places.
Now you are not imagining any longer. Knowing can have an unfruitful touch. :D
