at Rastatt baroque residence.
I thought, I did not like baroque things, until I have seen Rastatt palace. Maybe I have been in a very … accepting … :D … mood, but I really liked it there. Could have also been because of the rose colour of the palace.
When it was renovated some 40 years ago they found out that the original colour was raspberry red - so it was painted raspberry. I would have liked that! I will show you how it looks like now somedays.
Oh, some historical overview:
It is the oldest baroque residence in the "Haut Rhin" area(High Rhine or some sort of this it must be in English, sorry I do not know), started being built in 1700. Versailles has been the archetype, Rossi the architect.
